Position Purpose: This is a highly challenging assignment and would involve leading the entire IT focus. The incumbent would direct, plan and manage Business information technology so as to enhance business competitiveness, support business operations, sustainability and enable delivery on business plan and strategy.
Job Description:
The incumbent provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and leadership of the information and technology systems for the various businesses. Is responsible for managing the overall Technology Architecture, the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including ERP, Wide Area Network, Messaging System, Office automation etc.
The Head-IT works in tandem with the senior management team and participate proactively in developing and executing strategic plans to optimize the use of information technology in support of organization’s business objectives. Would also participate in policy and decision making process of the organization regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of proposed information systems
Major KRA\'s:
1. Developing IT plan and implementing at plant level in Global businesses have challenges because of the local cultures, regulations, customizations and support requirements.
2. Developing a capable team, as there are limited resources available with the required talent and experience etc.
3. Managing change / New technology implementation – as business with their focus on cost and delivery, while running on the existing technology may be reluctant to change .
4. Integration of the systems of the acquire companies with the existing IT System.
Accountability
• Lead the development and execution of Information technology strategy in synchronization with business strategy and work closely with Business heads and the Group IT Head on all technology related plans, goals and strategy.
• Suggest process and technology innovation, up gradation to the business keeoping in mind future trends.
• Ensure that, as the company grows, process and capabilities of IT systems and know-how meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness.
• Create a standardized and common technology environment for the Business for optimization, uniform excellence and fast upgradability of technology.
• Develop Common Technology for Business’s.
• Establishing common products and related norms and standards. Providing required guidance and support for same.
• Guide and coordinate with the business to ensure continuous process and technological improvements.
• Ensure that the Information systems processes and products are fully and correctly defined and documented.
• Facilitate implementation and adherence to SOPs and standard practices.
• Developing and supporting businesses to sustain technological leadership amongst industry, customers at large.
• Identify technology trends and offer solutions for the future.
• Provide visible leadership to the business within the information technology community.
• Anticipate and react to major technology changes within industry to ensure that the Company remains in pace with the new developments.
• Drive new inventions and technological breakthrough efforts from lab scale to the customer operations.
• Ensure implementation and ongoing management of Information Security
• Drive close collaboration with business units, Corporate functions and Group IT team to ensure there is a smooth flow of information and appropriate knowledge with the internal customers to develop and implement IT solution which maximise gains and optimise costs.
• Plan, implement and monitor the implementation of budgets, systems and processes to ensure disciplined delivery process, focusing on flawless execution, operating within the approved budget across the portfolio of various development programs.
• Provide technical design and implementation inputs for the brown field projects and new acquired companies across the business in order to provide a competitive edge to the business and maximise return on investments.
• Develop a strong, responsive and empowered team in order to maintain a working environment that promotes excellence, encourages continuous personal development and provides opportunity to contribute in an atmosphere of teamwork and trust and is inline with Group practices
• Candidate Profile: Engineers/MBAs/MCAs aged 33-42 with 10-20 years relevant experience with reputed manufacturing organisations. Must have had adequate exposure to SAP and have implemented at least one live implementation in any of the modules: SD/MM/FICO
