Area Sales Manager (ASM)

This position currently reports to the Regional General Manager – Eastern Region, and is based in Delhi.

Job Description

Key Result Areas

• Territories handled : Any group of states in the Northern Region of India
• Annual Turnover handled : Rs 125 crores
• Direct reportees into this position : 6 nos
• Achievement of sales targets for the given territories.
• Accomplishment of company programs and customer partnering initiatives.
• Creating and implementing Area Strategy and Market Development Plan.
• Relationship building / maintaining with key customers.
• Market Trend analysis and tracking competition.
• People Manager – Training & Development of the sales team, keeping them engaged on all the initiatives related to the area and an overall regional plan.
• Ensuring HSSE is adhered to, in the allocated area of business.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Education:
Graduate in any discipline (preferred BE/BTech). MBA from reputed institutes preferred.

Experience : Should have around 4-6 yrs of experience in channel sales, preferably managing a team of executives. Prior experience of handling distributors is essential.

Performance Bias: Extremely pro-active to manage wide range of activities in complex non routine context. Must demonstrate good time management, dealing with conflicting priorities and demands effectively.
Wise Decisions: Systematically breaks down complex problems to solve them. Must have good judgement and be able to make sound decisions under pressure.
Partnership and Teamwork: Actively support Team activities and facilitates building team effectiveness in the area of operations. Seeks out sources of knowledge and best practices for team development for delivery of services. Must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
Leadership: Ability to lead diverse teams even where there is no line authority. Must have demonstrated good influencing skills. Demonstrate significant personal autonomy and team leader authority in designated areas. Give specific coaching to team members to assist their performance.
Innovative : Should be open to new ideas and constantly strive to look for and adopt newer ways of doing things in a safe and efficient manner.
